
The Vietnamese government has made vocational and technical training one of its primary goals in its own development policy. The plan is to increase the current percentage of 30% skilled workers to 55% by the year 2020. As the need for a qualified workforce increases in direct relation to industrial development, while there is a lack of specialized workers and technicians with practical know-how in Vietnam, about 1.4 million people enter the workforce every year.
Don Bosco TVET in Vietnam is trying to catch up with this promising trend and provides a vocational training program for the improvement of the qualification of training activities for the trainers.
There are Salesians working in these 5 TVET (Phuoc Loc, Ky Anh, Dong Thuan, and Tan Tien and Mai Sen Hospitality Training Center) together with the staff to carry out the mission in these centers. To offer to the poor youth in various trades to respond to the demands of the labor market in Vietnam.
As following trades Welding-Cutting metal, Automotive, General mechanic, Industrial electricity, Air-Con & Fridge, Garment Tech., Beauty care, Cooperate accounting, Hospitality training, Housekeeping, Hair saloon, Microsoft office computer. Together with 160 trainers included Salesians and staff to carry out these services.
