Networking and Linkages activities of Don Bosco TVET Timor-Leste
Networking and Linkages with industry based company are one of the important x factors to publicise the image of TVET institutes.
From 15th to 19th November 2022, DBTech TLS undertook the Networking and Linkages with several industry-based companies and higher education institutes/universities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The objective of these activities are to pave the way for partnership and collaboration in providing technical trainings with global and recognised standard to the trainers in DB TVET Timor-Leste. Capacity building is the focus point.
The team leader of this activity was country representative of DBTech TLS, Bro. Amilcar da Silva, accompanied with the two directors of DB Training Centres: Bro. Adriano de Jesus, Bro. Tome da Conceiรงรฃo and two trainers: Mr. Tadeu Marques and Mr. Ricardo Dominico da Silva.
During the visits to the industry hubs, skills development centre and university campuses; the members of the team attended the technical presentations, training programs, QnA sessions and exposed to the simulations of the use of cutting-edge technology in demand nowadays.
Those were the industry based companies, colleges, universities and skills development centre that the team visited and were exposed to the skills training facilities:
- Peninsula Higher Education Group
- BIM (Building Information Modelling) Centre Lab, Faculty of Built Environment of the Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology
- Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation
- Seikou Systec Sdn Bhd & KNX Skills Development Centre Sdn Bhd
- Ricky Tan & Co
In the end, on 18th November 2022, DB TVET Timor-Leste celebrated the ceremony of signing MoU with the SEIKOU SYSTEC Sdn. Bhd. KNX Partner Malaysia expressing the understanding and agreement from both parties with respect to collaboration and cooperation in various activities such as:
- Sharing of engineering and technological knowledge and best industry practices on subject matter of KNX Building and Home Automation.
- Project design and implementation knowledge transfer.
- Providing KNX technical training for trainers of DB TVET Timor-Leste.
- Assist in setting up KNX certified training at DB TVET Timor-Leste.
The ceremony of signing MoU was held in the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation organised by the board of management of the Malaysian Service Providers Confederation. Guest of honour on the day were: H.E. Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Malaysia, H.E. Vice-Minister of Public works of Timor-Leste, H.E. President of Malaysian Service Providers Confederation and distinguished directors of the companies.
This activity of Networking and Linkages was successfully realised in good coordination with Mr. Siew Pen Wah (Chairman of Technological Association of Malaysia, Director of SEIKOU SYSTEC SDN. BHD. & Specialist of KNX Training KNX Skills Development Centre Sdn Bhd Malaysia).
